Help with Location Address Search
This is the most difficult search to use to get a good match because of the way the indexes are built. You should not enter directionals or the street type in the street name field. Select the street type from the drop-down list. For example, "1403 S Benton Court" would be entered as "1403" in the street number field along with "Benton" in the street name field and select "CT - Court" from the drop-down list for street type. You should then scroll through the result set to find the specific account for 1403 S Benton Court. There is a wild-card character which will match any characters which follow. It can be a useful technique when the actual street name is not known. The wild-card character is a percent sign (%) following the last known character in the street name you are searching for. A search of "Do%", for example, would retrieve all accounts where the street name begins with the letters D and O. You must enter at least two characters of the street name. The server is designed to protect itself from extreme search volumes and will not actually perform searches outside the maximum number of accounts it is allowed to retrieve. Even when all the "rules" are followed, the result may be less than desired since some street names are very popular and exist in many variations in the database which would be better suited to searching with a directional (E Lancaster, W Lancaster). Good luck!
Special Cases of Addresses
Specific streets may have unusual requirements. The Avenue streets (Avenue A, Avenue H, etc) should be entered as "ave a" or "ave h". I35 N should be entered as "north" (as in North Freeway); I35 S should be entered as "south" (for South Freeway). I20 should be "ih 20", but IH 30 is carried as "east" and "west".
