A: It is important
to Tarrant Appraisal District that our data be as complete and
as accurate as possible. If, in reviewing the data about a property
that you own, you discover that our data is incomplete or inaccurate,
please report the account number and the correction to webmaster@tad.org.
Certain data components directly affect the value of your property;
others do not. Building Units (size of the living area), Land
Acres, Land Square Feet, Year Built, presence of a swimming pool,
the number of Garage Bays, and the presence or absence of central
heat and central air directly affect value. If you report an inaccuracy
in one of these data components, an appraiser may be scheduled
to visit the property for an on-site inspection. The number of
bedrooms and bathrooms do not affect value. If you report an inaccuracy
in bedroom or bathroom count, we will correct our records immediately,
without an appraiser visit. We appreciate your active participation
in helping us get our data as complete and accurate as possible.

Q: Can I keep my personal information off your Web site? |
|
A: Effective September 1,
2001. new Property Tax Code § 25.025 permits peace officers, county
jailers, Texas Department of Criminal Justice employees, and commissioned
security officers, to request that the appraisal district restrict
from public access any information in the appraisal district records
required by § 25.02 that could be used to identify their home addresses.
The bill requires the Comptroller to prescribe the form on which
these confidentiality requests may be made. Read the complete text
of Senate Bill 247 and review the definition of terms to determine
your qualification. |
|
| Q: Why
do you charge a fee (require a password) to access your data?
|
|
| A: Tarrant Appraisal District
does not charge a fee to search its data, nor does it require a
password to do so. Many for-profit organizations purchase TAD's
data under the Freedom of Information Act, and some may create a
Web site and charge for access. However, Tarrant Appraisal District
does not charge a fee for its Web service. |
