Does your home qualify for exemptions?
Please note:
If you have purchased your home recently, you do
not need to request an exemption application. TAD will mail
an application to you in late December or early January provided:
If we have not processed your deed by January 1,
we will mail you an application as soon as we have completed the
deed entry. If you purchased your home after January 1, you will
receive an application in the following December or January.
If you are 65 or older or were disabled at the
time you purchased your home, or turn 65 or become disabled before
the January 1 requirement is met, you do not need to wait until
January 1 to apply for the over 65 residentail exemption. You are
entitled to an exemption for the entire year in which you turn 65
or became disabled; however, we must process your deed before the
application may be printed.
Applications for general residential homestead,
over 65 residential homestead, disabled person residential homestead,
and over 55 surviving spouse residential homestead must be submitted
to TAD on pre-printed, bar-coded forms available from TAD. You may
call our support service department (817-284-4063) and request an
application form, or you may send e-mail to webmaster@tad.org
requesting an application. In either case, a pre-printed form will
be mailed to you. The form must be completed, signed, and returned
with any required documentation. (hide
