In
addition to the data file(s) and documentation,
you may also need to download the DISTCOPY
program to format the data into a form appropriate for import into
a PC database product. You may also need to download the Adobe Acrobat
Reader or a file compression utility (WinZip or PKZip); if so, click
on one of the icons on the left side of this page. You may also
require a detailed example of how to use these tools to create a
database. This document
describes how to use DistCopy and the empty Access 2000 database
to create your own searchable database.
The data is complex and some of the files
are quite large. Download times may be excessive at
line speeds less than that of a T1. This data is not for the
casual user. High levels of skill are required to convert the data
into a searchable product. Tools are available (DISTCOPY and an
empty Access2000 database) to assist in the process, but TAD
does not provide any assistance in the use of the data beyond the
documentation provided above.

| AAAA 2007 (49 MB) Due to HB1010 passed by the legislature in 2007, appraisal district boundaries are congruent with those of the county for tax year 2008 and beyond. Because of that, properties which were outside Tarrant County for tax year 2007, but were part of a city or school district that was appraised by TAD, are no longer available on our Web site. This file contains all the properties appraised by TAD for tax year 2007 including those properties that are not a part of TAD's coverage for tax year 2008. This file is for reference and research only and will not be updated. |

Tax Estimator |

|
TaxEstimator v3.5.3 is a stand-alone Windows95/98/NT/2K/XP
program designed to estimate taxes.

DISTCOPY 2.0.16 (1.43 MB) A Windows95/98/NT/2K/XP program
to copy and format the data files above plus the Street Segment
File, or the data on the CD-ROM, into a format more appropriate
for import into PC database products. This is necessary because
the data files on the CD-ROM (and above) have been created on, and
for use by, IBM mainframe systems. The records are not delimited,
dates are stored without "/" between the month, day, and
year, and numeric fields do not contain decimal points. This program,
though not supported by TAD, will copy the files from the
CD-ROM (and above) and correct these specific conditions. The resulting
file is not only smaller than the original file, it is more easily
imported correctly into most PC database products. It has been tested
using Microsoft Access2000, but should work equally well with most
other products capable of importing fixed-width text files.

BUG ALERT – Loop during install
of DistCopy : There is a known problem with the Visual Basic
installer which may affect some systems running Windows versions
prior to Windows XP. The symptoms usually are that the installer
informs you that some system files need to be updated, asks that
you reboot the machine and restart the installation. When restarting
the installation, the installer again informs you that some system
files need to be updated, asks that you reboot the machine and restart
the installation. For more information, click

DISTRECS214.TXT
(17 KB) describes records used or created by DISTCOPY 2.0.14 for 2007.
Empty
2008 Microsoft Access2000 Database (90 KB) This database contains
no records, but does contain complete database table definitions
for eleven of the seventeen (17) different data files contained
on the TAD CD-ROM (including the files you may download above).
In addition, it also contains pre-defined import filters for those
eleven files. It also contains useful notes indicating which fields
represent appropriate record keys and indexes and some hints regarding
data relationships and dependencies. This could easily serve as
the foundation for a very sophisticated database suitable for many
applications. Not supported by TAD.
DATARELS.PDF
(442 KB) is a graphical depiction of the data relationships between
the tables in the sample database but should serve to explain those
relationships irrespective of any specific database product.

guaranteed. This program requires the free Microsoft .NET
Framework available from Microsoft. (05/11/2005)

GIS Data |

TAD's entire coverage is now available in GIS
format (ESRI shape files) for free
download.
If you develop an application based on TAD's
data and would like to share it with others, for free of course,
please let me know. I might
add it to the list above with all due recognition, honor, and glory.
