2013 Data Now Available: The 2013 proposed values for the residential and commercial real estate properties are now available for search and download. However, some residential, commercial, Business Personal properties, and mineral interest accounts are still being appraised for 2013 and will still show a value of $0 on the website. This does not mean that the 2013 value is zero, it means that the valuation process for 2013 is not yet complete. (04/2/2013) |

eAccess Portal Available: How to Submit a Protest Online? Beginning April 1, 2013, residential and commercial property owners, or agents, may file an online protest with eAccess. If the the early deadline of April 30 is missed, a protest may still be filed until the final protest deadline of May 31, 2013 or 30 days after the mailing of the notice, whichever is later. Only a residence homestead owner may be able to receive an offer to settle online without requiring a hearing with the ARB. A property owner or agent can withdraw the protest online. (04/02/2013) |

As required by Section 11.1825 of the Texas Property Tax Code, the Tarrant Appraisal District gives public notice of the capitalization rate to be used for tax year 2013 to appraise property receiving an exemption under this section. The capitalization rate that will be used to derive an estimate of market value for low-income housing property tax exemption in tax year 2013 will be between 8% and 9.50%. (02/01/2013)

eAccess Applications: Online Rendition and Extension Request for Business Personal Property (BPP) Accounts Available - The online rendition filing and extension request applications for Business Personal Property accounts are now available since January 1, 2013. You may file renditions online at any time until midnight Monday, April 15, 2013 or Wednesday, May 15, 2013 if you have already filed the extension requests. Please review the Online BPP Rendition Instructions, the eAccess User Guide, and the Insert which was included with the mailed rendition for information on how to use the online application. 2012 Commercial Documentation Now Available: The commercial department Data Product CD-ROMs are available for purchase at the customer service counter for $11.65/CD-ROM. They include the following: Sales Database, North County Land Sale Maps, South County Land Sale Maps, Commercial Manual, Commercial Cost Tables, Income Data, Apartment ARB Market Reports "ARB Evidence", and Commercial Equal and Uniform. Additional information is available at the customer service counter which may be used during an ARB presentation. This material may include aerial maps, photographs of the subject property, other data, schedules and formulas that may be presented in an ARB hearing. (06/06/2012) |

Alert Message - Inaccurate Email Concerning an Election Regarding over Sixty Five Exemptions: An inaccurate email has circulated concerning an alleged constitutional amendment regarding the homestead exemption for persons over age 65 and disabled. The Secretary of State has released a statement telling voters to disregard the email and contact their local election officials with ballot questions or other issues related to the local elections on May 12, 2012. Beginning September 1, 2011, homeowners seeking to apply for a homestead exemption in Texas will need to comply with a new application process imposed by the recent session of the Texas Legislature.
