2019 Protest Deadline Responsibilities for Most Real Property Owners

The deadline for filing a timely online Notice of Protest at for real property is no later than 5:00 p.m. Central Time on the date indicated on your 2019 Notice of Appraised Value form.  For most* real property owners and for those real property owners that did not receive a 2019 Notice of Appraised Value form, this deadline is Wednesday, May 15, 2019.  If you file online but fail to receive an immediate confirmation email in your Inbox (be sure to check your Spam and Junk folders), you should file a written protest with the Tarrant Appraisal Review Board, PO BOX 185519, Fort Worth, TX 76181-0519.  Your protest must be postmarked by the USPS no later than the day of your protest deadline to preserve your rights to a hearing.  A hard copy protest form is printed on the reverse side of your notice of appraised value.  More information is available here.

Please don’t wait until the last minute to file.  Informal negotiations at the Customer Service Counter may not be available depending on resources the week of the protest deadline.
